Bring up the following link in Mozilla:
http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewsr.html?pid=9749
When I try to download the file linked as "Download entire PDF Document" using a
right click and "Save link target as", I end up with an invalid 24 Mb file
instead of a 12 Mb file. In addition, the download progress dialog box shows
question marks (??) instead of the file size.
The actual url for the linked pdf file is:
http://boss.streamos.com/download/caib/documents/20030711/sts107workingscenario.pdf
Downloading the same file using Internet Explorer 6 SP1 works.
This may be a problem with the server improperly handling the HTTP request, but
IE seems to be able to cope. It may also be a problem with Mozilla.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewsr.html?pid=9749
2. Download the file linked as "Download entire PDF Document"
3.
Actual Results:
The resulting PDF file is not of the expected size, and cannot be read by Acrobat.
Expected Results:
Downloaded the file properly.

Imad: thanks for the bug report. is this problem 100% reproducible for you? if
so, can you please generate a HTTP log using the steps described here:

This is a log file generated by downloading the link in question.
As a side note, the problem isn't 100% reproducible. It downloaded properly in
one of my attempts (1 out of 6).
I see this on LInux 2003071705
I've seen the same thing happen in bug 208173 . I commented in that bug that
the web server sends the contents of the file in responce to both the HEAD and
the GET request. Mozilla then combines then to make one big file that even
includes the second HTTP OK responce from the server.
NOTE I just right clicked on the direct link to the pdf.

:( Following the directions in this bug led me to a HTTP 404 page. This bug
report may be invalid as a result (that is, the actual bug may be present, but
can no longer be reproduced using the steps given).
Can someone help us deliberately generate such a bad HTTP header for us to test
this on?

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
