Warren,
I can't find that bug that originally described this problem, but this is still
broken on the mac. String bundles called in from a stream converter don't seem
to function.

Does anybody care about this bug now?
Yes. I am still seeing it in today's Mac build (2000-01-12-08 M13)
Comment 7•26 years ago

I asked if anyone cares. Since I haven't heard of any dependencies on this, I'm
inclined not to fix it.
Comment 8•26 years ago

Mail/news cares. Message display is broken for any strings we need to lookup.
- rhp
Yes. Mail/News cares. It does not look good to have this problem on the attached
vcard message.

cc'ing sol. Is it a beta1 requirement that vcard attachments work right?
I'm removing the pdt+ distinction for reconsideration.

In the bug-a-rama, Mac users saw really bad vCard behaviors - empty boxes
flashing on the screen with nothing in them.
I don't believe that the correct functioning of vCards is a beta-stopper by
itself. But before clearing the beta1 designation of this bug, I'd like to hear
if the improper functioning of string bundles causes other bad behavior in the
Mail app.
Anyone?!

Hmmm, the string bundles shouldn't cause bizzare behavior in vCards. We are
using <DIV>'s and tweaking the display: attribute on them. Very strange
behavior would be playform parity layout issues.

I'd need to know where else in mail we would use string bundles so that I can
see the behavior on the Mac.

Hmm...not sure because it has to be running on the Necko thread. libmime/vCards
are the only ones I can think of offhand.

PDT argued that Vcard performance was not critical for beta1
