User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030718 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030718 I do not see the lock file as useful when dealing with profile. Recently when Mozilla has not been shut down properly I have had to go and find the lock and delete it. Also I would like to be able to open a new window without finding the old window. If I open a new Mozilla window, do I have any reason to want to have it under different profile? No. Thesettings I want 99% of time are still valid. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.pull plug on computer with Mozilla running or Have a previous mozilla open 2.Start another Mozilla window 3. Actual Results: You get the profile screen. You can't select the profile you want because it is "in use". Expected Results: Check to see if Mozilla is actually running and remove lock. Maybe just say "using <current> profile".
you are seeing bug 122698 and bug 151188. pick one and mark this as a dupe of it. use of the lock file prevents a lot of profile corruption.
