I have three e-mail accounts defined and one newsgroup account. For my middle
e-mail account, I deleted all the messages from the inbox (about 25) by clicking
the "Delete" button in the toolbar. When I had deleted the last one I
right-clicked on the "Trash" folder for that e-mail account in the folder pane
and selected "Empty Trash". The trash folder was indeed emptied, but the subject
pane, which had been empty, suddenly filled up with "empty" messages, about as
many as had just been deleted. I could select them, but they didn't update the
content pane. When I selected a different e-mail folder, they subject pane
refreshed, and going back to the folder with the "ghost" e-mails showed the
correct empty subject pane. I tried to reproduce it but I couldn't - however, I
think it has happened before.

My apologies - I searched through about 150 bug reports before filing this one
and didn't find anything that matched.
