This nightly also crashes on startup for me, WinNT.
Looks like it's missing some DLL's? Over to leaf.

Installer build seems to be working as a workaround.
Severity: normal → critical
Summary: crash on startup → [DOGFOOD] crash on startup
can't be dogfood if you can't run it.
121516 build seems to work, maybe htis has been fixed?

How did you install? Did you unpack or run the installer? Changing qa to gbush.
Grace, can you try to reproduce?
I am unzipping the zip file.
See also bug 21681 (may be duplicate of this) (and bug 19165 for possible
resolution)
I installed on Win95 (my machine experiencing the js3250.dll problem in past)
using the
seamonkey32e.exe file and on WinNT without problems in launching and sanity
checks. I also installed and launched using the moz**.zip file without problems
I am not sure I can reproduce it since my mscvrt.dlls are uptodate on all
machines now.

The installer now updates the msvc runtime dlls on your system, which is why the
installer works. If you have current runtimes, mozilla will run.

mcafee, i know you don't want to soil your registry by running an alpha
installer, but that's the only way mozilla can update the runtime dlls on your
system. your other option is to look at the other bug, and update the runtime
dlls yourself. Marking dup of 19165, because i can't make the zip file update
system libs; only the installer can do that.
