Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 Following dialog appears occasionally when clicking URLs in mail messages: "Error launching browser window:TypeError:Components.classes['@mozilla.org/appshell/component/browser/instance;1'] has no properties" Furthermore, dialog won't close when clicking OK (application switching solves this) Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. View message in three-pane mode 2. Click on URL link 3. Actual Results: Dialog appeared. Wouldn't go away until I switched here (to Mozilla) and back to Thunderbird. Expected Results: Switched to Mozilla and opened selected URL. Error occurred often under 0.1 -- tried it as soon as I installed 0.2 and reproduced error immediately.
this is a dup of the unix xremote bug if someone wants to dup it.
mostly a 'me to' msg, except i wish to add that i notice that the dialog box can be made to go away if all other windows are closed ... except that then there's no way to get back into the mailreader window (which i know i already saw entered as another bug, don't remember the number).

This same bug occurs on my machine (Mac OS X 10.2.6) when any application running tries to open a url while Thunderbird is open. Thunderbird (0.3 20031013) recives focus and this error message apears "Error launching browser window: TypeError: Compnents.classes['@mozilla.org/appshell/component/browser/instance;1'] has no properties" The error message is closeable if I click on the the title bar of the top Thunderbird window and then back to the error message. Reproducible: 100% Thunderbird must be running already.
