Mozilla Firebird will display the Alert in an apperant random fashion.
Clicking reload will usually result in the page being displayed normally.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
Which URL does this occur on? Or does it just occur during normal browsing?
It just occurs on normal browsing, even mozilla.org website has given me that
error once.
This WFM on winXP Gecko/20030913 Firebird/0.6.1+
I suggest you try loading a new profile onto a clean install and see if that
fixes the problem. If this only just started happening with the 20030914 nightly
build and you've been using mozilla before that then add "regression" to the
keyword fiel.
I has been happening for a while, and I've tried a new profile (well almost)
keeped some settings (from the pref.js file) and installed my usual extensions
(tab extension, web developer, all in one gestures)
Have you tried without any extensions? Test this out with a completely fresh
Firebird with new profile & no extensions. I highly doubt that this is a bug
with Firebire because everyone would see it if it was.
setting severity: minor
easy workaround - refresh.
Severity: major → minor
I'm seems that you could be right, been using:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030917 Firebird/0.6.1+
The error hasen't popped up again so maybe it is extension problem (tab
extension?) or then again.
I'll reinstall Windows XP soon and if it doesn't happen (with clean profile no
extensions) I'll mark it has invalid.
Today it happened in linux when i was visiting:
http://www.osnews.com/printer.php?news_id=3119 (the page started to show the
first lines before the warning)
My current build: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5b)
Gecko/20030917 Firebird/0.6.1+
And i was wondering, if Mozilla Firebird doesn't have some kind of
verbose/debug mode that i can run? I really want to find out what is really
causing this :(
ps: haven't installed windows yet...
Well intalled windows with a clean profile it still happens, expeceally when i
open allot of tabs at the same time.
Also i'm starting to suspect that this bug is related to another bug i'm having,
were a file will just stop downloading forcing me to close the window and start
over or concluding wen it's only ??% done (in this case i can resume).
That's all i know, hope some dev manages to find the bastard (of a bug).
I can't reproduce this, but since you've had the same problem with multiple OSs
and multiple builds I'm going to add the keyword qawanted to see if anyone else
can reproduce this.
Keywords: qawanted
OS: Windows XP → All

I was reading a Mozillazine post and clicking on this link
http://www.pcpro.co.uk/?http://www.pcpro.co.uk/realworld/realworld_story.php?id=47230
would always make the error message appear.
I tried it in Internet Explorer 6 and this popped up:
Action canceled
Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page
might be temporarily unavailable.
Did i screwed up with my report?
I really hope i didn't wasted everybody's time.

It looks like this isn't a bug. Both links provided link to server generated
pages... which could easily be responsible for the behaviour described.
Resolving as INVALID.
You didn't screw up your report. The process of confirming etc. is to determine
which bugs are real and what is causing them, so everything worked as it should.
:0) Keep buggin.

Thanks for you understanding.
But i still can't figure out why it happens so often, but I'm starting to
suspect is my Internet connection in any case I'll try Firebird 0.6.0 if it
still happens them Firebird isn't to blame, if not I'll reopen this.

I've been having this problem for a while. It is random but it happens almost
every time I click on the "my email" button on myway.com and happens everytime
my emails try to load. It is blocking access to my emails unless I revert to
IE.
I also happens on other pages but I've been unable to reproduce it and it
disappears on refresh.
I don't know if it is related but the problem seemed to appear after loading MS
SP2.
