this problem appends either with the URL input field of the browser window or with any of the input fields of the addressing widget of Message compose. But the case in msg compose is the most interesting 1) Open a new message 2) click into the subject field --> the subject field as now the focus 3) collapse the addressing toolbar 4) expand the addressing toolbar 5) click again into the subject field --> nothing append, cannot type anymore Now if you select another input field in the same toolbar (like the To: field), you can now select again the subject field. If the subject field didn't have the focus before collapsing the toolbar, you don't have problem to select it later. Only the input field with the focus has this problem. NOTE: in case you have typed something into the input field before collapsing the toolbar, you will notice that the input field content isn't showing up when you expand back the toolbar. The content will show up only when it get back the focus. I will file another bug for this display problem.
In browser, I have not found a work around to get back the focus into the URL input field!
