User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-AT; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-AT; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 WHEN there are at least 2 messages in my junk folder AND I use Menu-entry Tools/Delete messages marked as junk THEN all those messages vanish from the folder except one, which is *now* displayed in the message pane. (I'm afraid that this might activate certain viruses contained in the junk mail) MOREOVER only one message less than were originally in the junk-folder are transferred to the trash folder Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Wait until at least two messages are iput automatically (by the spam filter) or manually into the junk folder. Chose the junk folder. Don't click any spammail there. Messages-pane probably contains some mail you have read before or is empty. 2. Press Tools/Delete mail in this folder marked as junk 3. Observe the counts of mails in junk and trash respectively 4. Observe what appears in the messages pane - namely one of the junkmails Actual Results: 1.The mail-count in the trash folder is one less than was the mail-count in the junk folder before deleting them 2. A (arbitrary) junkmail isw displayed in the message-pane Expected Results: 1. Not display any junkmail in order not to risk giving feedback to the sender 2. count deleted mails (i.e. mails transferred to trash) correctly Sometimes Using Tools/Delete mails marked as junk leads to an unrecoverable failure and mozilla crashes. Not reproducible, seems to depend on the content of some junk-mails??? MAYBE this is also a security problem if those junkmails are infected. I fear this could be the case, but I don't know exactly.
Actual Result #2 is bug 200138, or possibly bug 89394. Actual Result #1 looks similar to bug 162342. "Sometimes Using Tools/Delete mails marked as junk leads to an unrecoverable failure and mozilla crashes. Not reproducible, seems to depend on the content of some junk-mails???" --That's a separate bug, which should be documented as completely as possible on its own. Leaving for someone else to figure how to mark this bug.
Then again, I guess I'll mark it. Reporter, if you're still experiencing the unrecoverable error and crash, please fill out a complete bug report on only that issue (after searching for duplicates, of course). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 200138 ***
