If you have for example two accounts, that is good, if you can define that when you send to a mailing list, use the user@public.mail.com email address as the sender, and when you send an email to your friends, use the user@personal.mail.com address. To make it clear, the 'from' field in a reply would be assigned from the account or from the 'To' or 'CC' fields from the mail itself. That fits your description, but not the title of this bug.
