2.Select "reply"
3.
Actual Results:
The text of the incoming message was pasted into the reply.

There should be an option not to include the text, but it seems to have been
removed.

Perhaps you´ve been looking at the wrong place.
You must start the mail application, then select Edit -> Mail&Newsgroup Account
Settings -> Composition&Adressing, and there in the top box 'Composition'
un-check the second checkbox 'Automatically quote the original message when
replying'.
Does this work for you?
I´ve checked this with a 1.6a trunk nightlie, as I don´t have mail running on a
1.5 mozilla release candidate.

by mail from reporter:
Original problem solved, as he found the preference for quoting according to
comment 3.
I´m reassigning the bug to Help, as it was caused by a wrong help entry.
He was looking for this preference in Mail & Newsgroups Preferences -
Composition, as told by the helpfile:
Automatically quote the original message when replying: Select this to include
the original message text in your reply. Then use the drop-down list to select
where you want to place your reply in the message area.
This is wrongly placed in Mail & Newsgroups Preferences - Composition,
but missing in Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings.
Maybe there is also a hint missing, that other preferences regarding mail
composition, i.e. composition and return receipts, are found in Mail&Newsgroups
Account Settings, accessible from the mail application only, separately per account.
Also missing:
Entries for Spellchecker, Confirmation of Sending, if Keyboard Shortcut is used.
These entries are self-explanatory, but if you look into the helpfile for
finding them, you are lost.

Helpfile is correct for 1.4.1, but seems to be incorrect for 1.5

Nilson, do you have some time on your hands to fix this?

Yea, I decided to try to fix at least 3-4 bugs today. I'll get it.

Are you saying that the entry in Mail & Newsgroups Preferences - Composition
should be moved to Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings?
> Also missing:
> Entries for Spellchecker, Confirmation of Sending, if Keyboard Shortcut is used.
Sounds like another bug to me.

The option was moved to account settings dialog, but the Help hasn't been
updated for it.

Let's wait until mail help is moved over to XHTML for this.
