User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6a) Gecko/20031002 Firebird/0.7+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6a) Gecko/20031002 Firebird/0.7+ User Name works, But password does not show up, I have to type password in everytime I login. This happens on all websites that use a password, including those that only ask for a password, Like http://photo.starblvd.net/ or http://www.ebay.com/ Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to http://photo.starblvd.net/ or http://www.ebay.com/ 2. make account on http://photo.starblvd.net/ or http://www.ebay.com/ 3. log off 4. login Actual Results: User name will be where It is supposed to be, But password has to be entered manually. Sites with user name already entered have black space where password is supposed to be entered. Expected Results: Password Manager should enter password and End User should not have to type It in regardless of the website.

Just to confirm that this is the same behaviour I'm seeing, it only occurs when the website caches your username somehow (if you clear your cookies, for instance, then it will work as expected once, then go back to working incorrectly) Additionally, if the username is filled in correctly automatically and you click on the username field, then elsewhere, does the password fill itself in?

Changing OS to All. The same problem occurs on Linux at site www.linuxmail.org. Also confirmed that the same behavior described in comment #3 applies to Linux.

In my case after deleting a websites, username and password line out of my firefox password manager it was not possible anymore to add this website with a new username and password in my p-manager. I tried to use a new profile, restarting in safe-mode and updating from 2.0.0.2 towards 2.0.0.3. Nothing helped to solve this problem.

This code has all been rewritten in the 5 years since this was filed. Reopen if it's still reproducible with a modern Firefox build.
