User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20030925 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20030925 After changing an account's local directory, the change is not immediately effective. One must close all mozilla windows, (even browser or composer) and restart. I think the change should be immediate (which would allow seing immediately if the new setting is ok for example when pointing to an already existing mail directory) or at least Mozilla should display a warning telling the user must completely exit all mozilla modules (as it does when changing the theme). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.change the account local directory 2.open the account folder Actual Results: it still contains the old folder contents Expected Results: show the new directory contents.
This is already reported and repeatedly reported and longlived bug. See "Messenger(Mail and News)"/"General Mail and News Issues" section of "Release Note" for any release of Mozilla (Almost all Relese Notes refer to the bug). > In the Mail/News Account Settings: Server Settings dialog box, > any changes you make to local directory settings won't take effect > until you exit and restart Mozilla (Bug 2654)
Sorry, I had searched for "change mail local directory" in bugzilla and I got no answer, so I had deduced that nobody had complained about this before. It still does not show bug 2654 although all the search words are present in the bug description. Strange. Maybe I should create a bug report for bugzilla?
