Hello I have 2 accounts in the same profile. The first one - Frederik (Home) -
works OK. The second - Frederik (Work) - works OK except, the settings in the
Copies & Folders window are not saved. I can enter them again and again, they're
not saved - this is pretty annoying. Any mail that is send for example is not in
the Sent for of Frederik (Work).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Fill out settings
2. Select another screen
3. Go back - settings gone
Actual Results:
Settings not saved.
Expected Results:
Save settings as in my 1st account - Frederik (Home).
none

Isn't it DUPE of Bug 2654?
"Known Issues"/"Messenger (Mail and News)"/"General Mail and News Issues"
section of "Release Note" of almost releases of Mozilla refers to this longlived
bug.
> In the Mail/News Account Settings: Server Settings dialog box,
> any changes you make to local directory settings won't take effect
> until you exit and restart Mozilla (Bug 2654)
Or DUPE of Bug 143485 "Copies & Folders not saved"?
Restart didn't help me. I recreated the account (or I added another account,
moved all my mails and renamed it after I deleted the non-working one). Now
everything seems OK. I think the porblem was somewhere in the prefs.js file. Not
sure.

I created a new account and started to copy all settings from the old one. When
it came to Copies & Folders, suddenly my first account started to work again.
Still annoying, but at least I did not have to copy my mails to the new account.

Hi,
the same problem happened with my account after having it converted from
Netscape 4.8 (?) to Mozilla 1.5/1.6a. The whole 'Copies & Folders' dialog just
remains un-initialized.
Problem is that linked to the dialog problem I had a severe DATA LOSS, because
all my 'Sent' emails are just gone to Nirvana since I have moved to Mozilla -
even though I thought to have set up the 'Copies & Folders' page correctly after
the profile conversion! So not only the dialog remains un-initialized, but also
the whole 'Copy to Sent-Folder' functionality is broken!
Just today did I have to look up a previously sent email and discovered the
problem - No mails in the 'Sent' folder since the time of profile conversion!!!
The workaround described previously also worked for me: I created a new email
account and deleted it again immediately afterwards. Now the 'Copies & Folders'
page contains sensible data and outgoing messages are correctly stored in my
'Sent' folder! Note: I did not change or touch the original account in any way
for this workaround. The 'Sent-Folder' functionality (and dialog initialization)
just started working again after the described steps had been performed...
Ciao,
Alex :-)
