User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 When I delete all the bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar, the page that I am currently viewing repeatedly jumps up and down by a few pixels. It's almost as if the browser is trying to close the toolbar because it's empty but then decides to reopen it. This results in the browser window shaking furiously! :o) The problem is easily solved by placing a new bookmark in the toolbar. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Browse to a webpage 2. Delete all bookmarks from the bookmark toolbar 3. Get ready to shake! Actual Results: Browser window repeatedly shakes Expected Results: Not shaked
Hi Anton, it works for me in Win XP, 20031116 Firebird/0.7+ I can delete everything on the bookmarks toolbar and the browser window remains stable. It's possible that it's been fixed between your official 0.7 release and the nightly release I'm using, so one thing to try out would be to download a fresh nightly and see if that fixes it. But before that, there's a few other things to consider: - are you using the standard theme that comes with the browser, or another theme? If the latter, will it still flicker if you use the standard theme? - are you using any extensions with Firebird? If so, what happens if you remove them? One of them might be affecting the appearance. - Some browser appearance problems result from small glitches in your user preferences. If you load Firebird with a fresh profile, does the problem still occur? You can do this by either trashing your current user profile (temporarily) or starting the profile manager (see: http://texturizer.net/firebird/faq.html#profilemanager) Let us know if any of these fix it. Cheers :)
Bug was fixed for Mozilla, but not in Mozilla 1.5 Bug 219643 Window shakes if empty Personal toolbar is expanded.
To answer Wayne's questions : im using a fresh out of the box version of firebird with no skins, plugins or anything. Deleting the bookmarks out of the toolbar was literally the first thing I did upon launching the application for the first time. I will try the nightly build when I have a chance to see if this resolves the problem and get back to you. Cheers. Anton
