User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031119 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031119 Please review the URL *with Classic theme*. As you can see, the scrollbar does not function on the layer shown (Beschrijving/Description). If you switch to Classificatie/Classification the scrollbar does scroll. This website uses javascript to change the visibility of layers: the visibility of the selected layer is set to visible, the others to hidden. Ergo: the scrollbar shown in Beschrijving/Description is the one belonging to a hidden layer. The same problem occurs on this page: http://ip30.eti.uva.nl/bis/insecten.php?menuentry=inleiding The problem does not occur in the modern theme and seems to be restricted to recent versions of Mozilla (used with Mac OS X 10.3). There's no problem in the Classic theme of Mozilla 1.5 for PC. As the Classic theme is default in Mozilla for OS X, I think this is quite a serious bug. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: See details. Actual Results: See details. Expected Results: Use Modern theme to view the site. This theme works OK.
Does Mozilla use OS-native scrollbar drawing in the classic theme? If so, this is probably a GFX:Mac bug, not a views one...
Yes, Mozilla uses the "aqua blue" scrollbars in the Classic theme.
--> GFX: Mac.

Summary: Incorrect display of scollbars in Classic them → uva.nl scroll bars don't work in Classic theme
Yes, because we have used display: block/none to circumvent this bug. I think it's identical or at least similar to bug # 187435: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=187435
