User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 Sometimes the problem will just give an error saying 'the url is invalid and can't be loaded', or something along those lines.. however, most times, when I click the wheel button on my mouse to get the 'scroll' icon, and move the mouse, then middle click again, mozilla will bring me to some really odd website where the URL was nowhere to be found on the given site. First time brought me to a journal website, second time gave me the error, third time brought me to mozillazine.com Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. click middle mouse button once 2. move cursor away from 'scroll' icon 3. click middle mouse button again Actual Results: Mozilla brought me to an apparantly totally random website. Expected Results: nothing?
I'm assuming this is Mozilla's X-pasting implementation, which I don't much like. To turn it off so that the middle button acts more like it does in Windows, set 'middleMouse.contentLoadURL' to false in about:config. If this fixes your problem, please resolve this bug invalid.
yeah, it's definitely the middle click paste thing, if you have text in your buffer it usually googles it and takes you to the "I'm feeling lucky" page for that search string. The fix suggested in comment #1 works for me, so marking invalid, let us know if you keep seeing the problem after setting that pref. :0)
