User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6a) Gecko/20031103 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6a) Gecko/20031103 Although the UI responsiveness on both linux and windows is bearable I find that the widgets are quite sluggish by comparison to almost all my other programs. For example all my windows programs on Win200 and all my GTK/Gnome programs on Linux are significantly faster. It just gives the feeling that mozilla is slower than other programs even though the rendering may be faster. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: A particularly easy way to see the difference is just to click on the File menu and move the mouse across the menus so they flick up and disappear quickly. In a windows or gnome application the menus are fully responsive in mozilla the rendering often doesn't even keep up with the mouse movement. Actual Results: On any other application this is lightening quick. On mozilla/linux in particular this is noticeably slow. Annoyingly netscape 4.1 seems more responsive on my 120mhz machine than Mozilla 1.6a on linux on my 2.4ghz machine. Expected Results: Mozilla widgets, in particular menus should run at the same speed as widgets in other application not several times slower. It gives the application a feeling of having much worse performance than it actually has.
