VERIFIED DUPLICATE of bug 13277

People

(Reporter: echinacea_feldercarb, Assigned: leger)

Details

In a browser window, pressing the Home, End, Page Up or Page Down keys does not do anything. They should scroll the window. Verified on Mac M12 with PB2400, MacOS8.
This bug is extremely similar to bug <a href="http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12213">#12213</a> which was verified fixed.
Assigning all open "nobody@mozilla.org" bugs to "leger@netscape.com" to weed thru.

It also sounds a lot like bug 9701 (which is still open) or better still bug 23401. bmetzler: does clicking in the window then using the keys help (bug 9701)? If not, does clicking in the location bar then the window help (bug 23401)?
Agreed. 9701 seems to be the right bug to mark this one a DUP of, especially since it's too vague to do anything else with. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 9701 ***

It's not a duplicate. Clicking in the window makes Page Up and Page Down work correctly, so that part is a duplicate of 9701, but after clicking, Home and End still don't move to the beginning and end of the page. I don't see what's "vague" about this description.

Home and end have never moved to the start or the end of a document in Navigator. It has always been ctrl-home or ctrl-end. However, the ctrl accelerators currently aren't working in Mozilla (see bug 22529). Home and end do work in IE though and a request for this sort of behaviour has already been filed for this - see bug 13277.
bug reports become difficult to manage whenever they deal with more than one specific issue. As I read it the only remaining issue is that Home/End don't behave like you think they should. That issue is dealt with in bug 13277, so this is now a dupe of that bug. marking as such *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 13277 ***
