We would like to use the addressbook advanced search to create dynamic
mailinglists. For example we would like to work like:
preparation
===========
1) select a number of addresses in advanced search
2) right-click and select properties (common to all selected addresses)
3) Change the Other->Custom1 field to "Workshop 2003"
Now when we want to send email to the "workshop 2003" group:
1) Advanced search for Other->Custom1 == "Workshop 2003"
2) Select all matches
3) Compose new message
4) Copy selection into "To" field
However, for one we can't advanced search for "Other" fields.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
We are trying to migrate our administrative staff from outlook/eudora (****!) to
mozilla. They have large email-lists and run into these kind of problems. (Can't
copy selections into lists, duplicate email entries if the address is in a list,
well you probably know the drill ;) You do, I think I saw the bugzilla entries)
I think this feature would be greatly helpfull for us as a "selling point"
Anyway, thanx for a good product, now please make it great! ;)
