User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.4 (20031205) When I've left Thunderbird alone for a while, and have received new mail, along with the new mail notification, and go back to it, if I click on a currently unselected imap folder that has new messages in it, I get the new mail notification sound, which I think is wrong. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Read some mail 2. Do something else not in Thunderbird 3. Once Thunderbird has notified you that you have mail in an imap folder that's not currently selected, click on that folder Actual Results: The new mail notification plays Expected Results: Nothing, no sound should play.
Related problem: No notification sound/icon when new mail arrives in imap folders other than Inbox (when Thunderbird is minimized). When you open Tbird you see the other imap folders bolded to indicate new mail, and when you open the folder then you get the notification popup, as described previously.
Summary: new mail notification played for all imap folders clicked on → new mail notification played for all imap folders clicked on
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031212 I can confim this, using Mozilla MailNews agains Cyrus imapd. I have several subfolders to INBOX, where mails from different mailing lists go. Trying out 1.6b now (hoping some of the severe mem leaks are fixed), every time I click on a folder with unseen messages in it, I get a "new mail" notification. Very annoying...
