Junk Mail are not automatically deleted when set in the junk mail controls.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set junk mail control to delete after 1 day.
2.

Actual Results:  
Junk mail was not deleted.

Expected Results:  
Delete junk mail from the junk mail folder.

Could this be a dupe of bug 195047? Fixed in 1.6b.

From the Bugzilla Helper form:
"Also, please do not file bugs on copies of Mozilla older than two weeks."

But since it's a dup, if you can reproduce it in a current nightly build then
getting 195047 reopened would probably be the best course of action.
