Details

(Whiteboard: [NEED INFO])

selecting a different color for visited and unvisited links has no effect. this
occurred using 2000010308 on linux and mac. to repro:

1. go to Preferences > Appearance > Color
2. select a color other than blue for unvisited links
3. select a color other than purple for visited links
4. click OK to leave Prefs

expected: after leaving Prefs, the navigator page should be redrawn such that
links have the new color prefs (and the prefs.js should be updated as well).

result: although the prefs.js was updated to have the new color change, the
change never appeared in a webpage (even after reloading current page or going
to another one).
another side effect of this bug: when i decide to change the link color prefs
back to the default purple and blue (visited/unvisited, respectively), somehow
the visited links remain blue (instead of switching to purple). odd.
Summary: [PP] linux/mac: changing link color prefs has no effect → changing link color prefs has no effect
getting rid of the parity label in the summary 'coz this might also be an issue
for windows --unknown as yet due to bug 21160.

Does 4.x reload the page? If the user reloads on Seamonkey, do the prefs work?
Or do you have to restart the app?
Whiteboard: [NEED INFO]
On Mac 4.73, changing your color preferences does cause the current page(s) to be
reloaded/re-rendered with the appropriate colors.
y'know, this really sounds like a dup of bug 21160, the more i think about it...
let me know why, if otherwise.
