User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20040102 Firebird/0.7+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20040102 Firebird/0.7+ The Auto-complete option for Firebird doesn't work. To be more specific, it works once but after that it doesn't appear at all. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to http://www.google.com 2.Type in a search that you've done before 3.Repeat Actual Results: Form Auto-Complete works the first time, but never again after that. Expected Results: keep auto-completing. I'm almost positive it's the checkins listed as the URL for this bug. The builds from 12/30 work fine, but after 12/31 the autocomplete is broken.

http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=43320 seems to be about this issue, and includes some patch to fix, but I haven't tried it.

James Ross: no, http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=43320 is about inline autocomplete (bug 186136 or bug 210932).

Stopped working after 2003-12-23 on Firebird on Mac OS X. I cleaned the profile and fully reinstalled the latest Firebird 2004-01-06. Reseting the Autocomplete preference in Options or through about:config does not resolve the issue. Just downloaded 2003-12-01 (oldest available in Nightlies) and it works with the recently entered form data appears through this build. It definitely got broken and didn't get fixed yet. Currently using "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031201 Firebird/0.7+" on Mac OS X 10.3 Panther for working Autocomplete functionality. I can confirm that it worked in early December 2003 builds on Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar. jxb@myrealbox.com

Over to Ben, since he did the checkin. Hardware/OS = All This is a serious regression on both trunk and branch and should better be fixed before the release.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040108 Firebird/0.8.0+ (MozJF) My experience matches Jose's in bug 230443, not WD's in comment 0 of this bug. Autocomplete works in the first tab but not in other tabs.

This WFM, with build 20040114, Windows XP :-)
Ben checked in a fix. But since no patch is attached to this bug, I guess it's technically WFM. -> WFM

After further testing this doesnt seem to be completely fixed. For some reason, that i havent figured out how to reproduce, the autocomplete stops working after a while.

hm. if autocomplete is still buggy, try and figure out a series of steps to reproduce and file a new bug.

José, be sure that it ain't off-screen (other bug !) : "arrow down" before TABbing to the next field. I was nearly caught myself thinking that autocomplete wasn't there.

It wasnt off-screen, it was bugzilla. Though I tried hard to reproduce, I cant do it anymore. Will comment here if I found any way to reproduce.
