User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031216 Firebird/0.7+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031216 Firebird/0.7+ Reading, and following, the Extension tutorial at <http://www.mozilla.org/docs/tutorials/tinderstatus/>, gives the following instructions: <quote> The best way to find a XUL file for a window is to use the DOM inspector. The DOM Inspector is a tool bundled with Mozilla that allows you to examine the DOM of web pages and XUL windows. To access it, go to the "Tools" menu, select the "Web Development" submenu, then select the "DOM Inspector" item. The DOM Inspector will load in a new window. <strong>In the DOM Inspector window, go to the File menu, select the Inspect a Window submenu, then select the Mozilla browser window item (named after the page currently loaded in the browser)</strong>. The DOM Inspector will display the URL of the XUL file that defines the Mozilla browser window, which is chrome://navigator/content/navigator.xul. </quote> However, under the File=>Inspect_a_Window menuitem, only the "DOM Inspector" window appears. To access the browser window requires to highlight the appropriate <HTML> node in the inspector pane. If I open a _second_ browser tab, as I'm doing to enter this bug, the Inspector appears to match the documentation. Likewise, opening a second browser window allows the windows to show in the Inspect_a_window menuitem. The failure to show the browser as a window to be inspected occurs only for the one-window, one-tab situation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. With only a single browser window, single tab, activate DOM Inspector. 2. In DOMI, activate File=>Inspect_A_Window. Actual Results: Submenu shows only _1_ DOM Inspector. Expected Results: Submenu should show _1_ DOM Inspector / _2_ [title-of-browser-window].
