When I want to configure the SMTP Server for more than 1 Account it's really
difficult to do this. I have 3 accounts at GMX.de, who desired authenticated
login . When I found the place, where to configure more than 1 SMTP Account and
have created my required SMTP-Servers and go to the Account to select the right
SMTP Server than there's a list displayed like this:
mail.gmx.net:25           
smTP.mail.yahoo.de
mail.gmx.net:25 (standard)
mail.gmx.net:25
smTP.mail.yahoo.de
postmail.arcor.de

Believe me, it is not easy to find the correct entry for the Account. I change
as workaround the Port to nonstandard and when I've selected the SMTP -Server
reset it to 25. But I know - referring to german forums - that many users don
not know how to select the right SMTP account. 
There should at least the corresponding username be displayed to the SMTP
Server, but it would be much better if there were an own item for SMTP
configuration at each account like the pop3 server configuration.

This is bug 158099.

Can you explain your idea a little more? I don't really understand what you mean
here.

this is not even an enhancement, it is just basic. Everybody should have the
possibility to distinguish between the different choices. I gave a vote for the
prior entry <a href="http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158099">bug
158099</a>
