User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 Open http://retro.romines.info:9876/queryeq.php, You can type in the form. If you alt tab to anyother program, then alt tab back to the form, The text focus character is blinking in the form, yet typing doesn't appear to do anything. If you alt tab away, then back again, you can type again. If you were to tab away and back again, its back to not letting you type. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open: http://retro.romines.info:9876/queryeq.php 2. Text Focus appears in first entry of form, alt tab to another program, alt tab back to mozilla, text focus still appears to be in the first entry line. 3. Attempt to Type, nothing appears in the box, trying to place focus in form with mouse doesn't seem to allow you to type either. Actual Results: Not able to type without switching away and back to the form. Expected Results: Let you type where the text focus icon is blinking.

Confirming with Gecko/20040215 Firebird/0.8.0+, Windows XP. Dont have Mozilla suite installed, so I dont know if this also affects it.

Also confirming in Firefox 0.8, tweaking summary. I'd switch this to NEW except that I have no idea what to include as a summary, and the devs want a useful summary/product/component/etc. when marking bugs as NEW. Can someone test this in Mozilla? I'd bet it's there too, but the error mentioned below seems to be Firefox-specific (because of the reference to autocomplete, which I believe has been forked), so I'm not sure. Additional information: Switching to another window appears to disable text input to the textbox. Typing in the textbox seems to do nothing there. Switching to another window and switching back seems to re-enable the textbox. I also seem to be getting an error message in the Javascript Console when I do this: Error: [Exception... "'Permission denied to get property XULElement.selectedIndex' when calling method: [nsIAutoCompletePopup::selectedIndex]" nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)" location: "JS frame :: <unknown filename> :: onfocus :: line 0" data: no]
Summary: Alt tab back and forth from and to firebird, ever other time, you cannot type in the form, even though the text focus bar is blinking → Switching back and forth from/to Firefox on alternate times you can't type in the form though textbox indicates otherwise

You don't have to switch applicaions to see this problem. Switching tabs inside the program will show this as well. The problem occurs in general in the suite, but you don't see the error in the javascript console that you see in Firefox.

Confirmed with WinXP build Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 Not able to type in the first entry of the from without switching away and back to the form. but the selection works fine for the select options which has length more than 1. Follow up tests: 1.open http://retro.romines.info:9876/queryeq.php, 2.Click on More Search Options and on Advanced. 3.Select any option from Affects Skill,Affects Spell or Areas. These work irrespective of the switching..while nothing else works.. The New Query window from "Advanced" displays that these selections work. So I believe that the bug is only with textboxes and the selection options with length 1.

I opened http://retro.romines.info:9876/queryeq.php , focused on input text control, typed some text, Alt-Tab on other program, Alt-Tab to return back, cursor was blinking and I was *able to type*. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; bg; rv:1.8b3) Gecko/20050708 Firefox/1.0+
