User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 I have to stare at the page for several seconds in order to locate hilited text while performing a find. Other people seem to have this problem as well. A simple animation like a zooming rectangle or a color cycle would more effectively draw the user's attention to the hilited text. Can this be done as an extension? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to www.cnn.com 2. "Find as you type" for "Video" 3. Try to actually locate the word on the page... see how hard it is? Actual Results: Eye strain, frustration, repeat hitting of CTRL-G.... Expected Results: Nicely draw the user's attention to the hilited text with a simple animation.

Bug 127314 is simular but deals with the search/selection and not FAYT. You can change the color of the FAYT text by going to about:config and adding ui.textSelectBackgroundAttention = #rrggbb
Component: Search → Keyboard: Find as you Type
Summary: text hilited during find operations should be more noticeable → text highlighted during find operations should be more noticeable
