In the moment it's very hard to see if there are replys to newsgroup threads
which I've marked as "watching" (Menu "Messages" => "Watch Thread" on a newsgroup).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Thunderbird
2. Watch a newsgroup thread
3. Wait for replys

Actual Results:
Thunderbird only marks the name of newsgroup bold if there a new postings

Expected Results:
Thunderbird should change the font color of the newsgroup which has a new reply
for a watched thread i.e. to red (similar to outlook express's behavior)

This is Seamonkey bug 222238.

I think it is not, bug#222238 talks about threads shown within a newsgroup,
while this one asks for highlighting of the newsgroup itself in the pane on the
left hand side.

I think it would be visually consistent if groups with new messages in watched
threads would simply show the same icon as watched threads.

Reading and writing to a lot of groups could really be made much easier that way.

You're correct, I think I copied the wrong bug number.
This is Seamonkey bug 127692.

OK I see. Hm. That one has been around for more than 3 years now, is there any
chance anyone will ever do something about it? Looking at the votes list makes
me feel kinda pessimistic about that...

I see there has been no progress in this feature which is sooooo needed for serious news readers, who subscribe themselves to several newsgroups and need to track their watched threads. Any hopes it will make it for tbird 2.0??

13 years later :-)....

This is THE feature that I miss the most in Thunderbird or Seamonkey...
