User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 When switching themes in Firefox the scrollbars of webpages disappear temporarily. There are also times when fragments of previous theme co-exist with a current theme. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Download a few skins from http://texturizer.net/firefox/themes/ (Firefox default, Spheregnome, Walnut, Silverskin 1.5 and Nautilus are the ones I used). 2.Visit a webpage that has a lot of content and scrollbar is required to navigate the page. 3. Now, switch skins from Options->Themes 4.Keep switching skins and you will notice other inconsistencies described below. *Refreshing the page will help bring back the scrollbar. Actual Results: Upon switching skins, the scrollbar disappears once a new skin loads. (However upon refreshing the page or closing the window and reopening solves the problem) Refer attachment In certain cases the previous skin fragments can be seen while using the drop down menu at the top. (Refer attachment) Expected Results: Even on switching themes the scrollbars should not disappear from the webpage. Also the theme should load completely without co-existing with the previous theme. Follow Up tests ---------------- 1. The first follow up test was to ensure whether the same problem exists upon closing and restarting the software and finally reinstalling it if the problem persists. Upon carrying out all these action the problem still exists. 2. I replicated the same bug on Opera, but Opera shows proper consistency and scrollbars do not disappear and neither do themes conflict. Importance of the bug --------------------- 1. A feature can be tested in isolation-without considering how often other features might affect its behavior. However the feature could well be buggy when used in combination with other features in the same software [Whittaker-How to Break Software]. This bug conforms the attack that Whittaker talks about and can be considered as a potential usability issue. 2. Features that share data inconsistently or interact poorly [Whittaker] are examples of inherent problems with the code which result in UI inconsistency issues.

please follow the bug reporting guidelines and search for existing bugs first. duping against bug 184151, however bug 226791 is more likely to get fixed (remove dynamic theme switching) until someone figures out a way of making this work properly *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 184151 ***
