Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040326 Mac OS X 10.2.8 on an iBook 300 MHz (800x600 screen) modern theme Since a week or so, I'm seeing that the graphics of the previous page might be shown in the 'empty' part of the scrollbar, when it first appears. It looks like a refresh of that part of the screen isn't been done. The thumb itself is ok. It seems to happen only in the modern theme. To reproduce : - resize your windows to be roughly 800x600 - go to a page that doesn't cause the hortizontal scrollbar to appear (eg <http://news.google.com/>) - go to 'Bugs Filed Today' in the QA menu. - since that doesn't fit on a 800x600 screen, the horizontal scrollbar will appear. The thumb will be drawn correctly (left hand side), but the 'empty' area on the right won't be redrawn, and you still see the contents of the previous page (b/c the scrollbar doesn't have a reserverd location, and appears on top of the page) I'll post a screendump immediately. I'm not too sure when it noticed it the first time, but it must have been in the last week. It looks like it's related by bug 2347407 (or caused by the fix for that), but my build is after that was checked in. And I only had 1 theme anyway. I noticed that the bug doesn't appear in the Classic theme (hence my remark for bug 2347407), but only in the modern. I tried creating a new profile, but that didn't help (don't forget that a new theme starts by default with Classic). Clearing the XUL cache, or disabling it didn't work either. I'm not able to verify in on a different platform, but I'll try to go back in tiem, and see in which version it appeared first. Note : I don't see the bug in a 20040327-build of Firefox, but that might be b/c its theme use scrollbars similar to the Classic ones. I suspect it only happens in the Modern theme.

was this a regression of bug 237407 ? still seeing the bug in build 2004042308
Bug 239035 addresses a different aspect of the same issue. The bug is still present in Mozilla 1.7RC3, and, judging from the attachments, has only been seen on Mac OS X.

So I haven't seen this problem in 1.7b, I do see it in 1.8a4.
