240000 - Browser hangs on numerous pages

Browser hangs completely. No response. Updating mozilla icon in corner freezes.
 Need to shut down Mozilla and restart. 

I have experienced this sort of hanging quite often since... 1.4? But haven't
lodged a bug about it yet.  Tonight I was going through the archives of Linux
Today (http://linuxtoday.com/news/archives/200404/05) and experienced multiple
browser hangs. 

I don't know what is causing it, although I suspect it has something to do with
fetching ads from third party sites (I have accept images from originating
server only checked).


I initially thought that it was from tabbed browsing, but it still seems to
happen without tabs. 

If you're interested I can give you half a dozen urls which do this each week
(although, admittedly, often different pages from the same target site).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start browser
2. Paste url
3. press enter

Actual Results:  
Mozilla hangs.  Completely unresponsive.

Expected Results:  
Not hung.

Reporter: THe bugzilla guidelines ask that you can reproduce a bug with a build
