User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040421 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040421 This effect has just come up in the latest Mozilla (1.7b) it did not occur earlier. When I download an image or file, the download goes ok, and then the download window has a drop down "popup" (on a mac, on a sun it would be a separate tiny window) with the name of the web site along with 'ok'. Of course this forces me to stop what I was doing, go over to the stupid thing and click to remove it. This is a TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. The principle (WHICH SHOULD BE APPLIED EVERYWHERE IN MOZILLA!!) is NEVER have a window come up that one has to click to get rid of. Show the message in a diagram at the toop of the browser or, in this cae Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to http://www.fsgw.org/ 2. There is an image in the upper left corner (actually, any image will do) Right click and 'Save Image As ...' 3. save the image Actual Results: The save dialog comes up. Click 'save'. The file is saved and then a drop-down pane shows up. It contains a yellow triangle with a '!' in it. Next to that is the name of the web site, www.fsgw.org. Finally, there is an OK in a blue button. One is FORCED to click the stupid button to get rid of the download panel. When one clicks it it goes away. Expected Results: No pane should appear! It is not needed!!! It wastes my time! This is a TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. The principle (WHICH SHOULD BE APPLIED EVERYWHERE IN MOZILLA!!) is NEVER have a window come up that one has to click to get rid of. Show the message in a diagram at the top of the browser or, in this case, don't show the message at all.

If after reading all the bug 240367 duplicates you can duplicate the behavior with a build from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest-1.7/ feel free to reopen. Bugs should not be reported on builds over 3 weeks old unless the behavior found in them can be duplicated in a current build.
Yup, sorry for the bother - I had *thought* I had gotten the latest, but must not have loaded it from the ftp site - so got an old 1.7b. The 1.7 does not have the problem.
