User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040526 When publishing a webpage the source code is changed. That is unwanted. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: N/A http://www.documentconversie.denkbreed.nl/index.html http://www.documentconversie.denkbreed.nl/index2.html See the difference.. Actual Results: source code is changed @ many places Expected Results: just change the text and leave the rest of the source code alone! When i edit a webpage (just change a text) and then publish it on internet the webpage isn't displayed properly anymore. When i look in the source code some things i didn't change are changed. I set the option for RETAIN original formatting, but that didn't help.
How about looking in preferences: Preferences->Composer->When Saving or Publishing Pages[...] invalid?
I agree, this bug should be marked INVALID. Although, I believe the setting that decides to rewrite parts of the code should be disabled by default (that is, set to NO).
(In reply to comment #1) I've already set in Preferences->Composer the option: Retain orginal source formatting. I believe this is the setting for DO NOT CHANGE the html format, but it certainly does.....
In that case, i can't reproduce the bug. I'm using Firefox right now, but at work i tried the last composer nightly, and I've had no issue.
Please attach the actual file that got modified (the version before it got modified) and clearly describe _what_ composer modifies.
This could be another DUPLICATE of bug 251686
Whiteboard: DUP of bug 251686?
Twan, can you try again your steps to reproduce with the latest build and see if you get/don't get expected results. Please report back your findings; if the problem is still there, update/clarify/explicit which steps are needed to reproduce the problem. Thanks. "be sure that you've reproduced your bug using a build released within the past three days. Our development process moves at lightning speed, and the bug you've found may already have been fixed." http://www.mozilla.org/quality/bug-writing-guidelines.html Latest build: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest/
I got no reply from the reporter. http://www.documentconversie.denkbreed.nl/index2.html leads to a 404 not found page. So, from what I can see, this bug was a duplicate of bug 251686. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 251686 ***
