the current main download page for Mozilla,
http://mozilla.org/products/mozilla1.x/download/, with details of Mozilla 1.6,
says "Users of Mac OS 9 and earlier, download Mozilla 1.0.2" (which links to
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.0.2/mozilla-macos9-1.0.2-full.bin)

But this is merely that last stable branch build of Mozilla for Mac OS 8.5 and
above. Mozilla 1.2.1
(http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.2.1/;
mozilla-macos9-1.2.1-full.bin) is the most recent available version for Mac OS
8.5 and above

I think it would be worth linking to both these versions from this page

I think this is more of a wontfix.
but verifying
