Details
Since I run out of visible tabs (compare bug 249187), I usually /hide all server/network tabs. It would be nice, if all those tabs could be set to hidden in preference|startup. (By the way, what is the opposite command to /hide? /help hide doesn't mention anything, neither /show nor /unhide do exist.) This is with mozilla-1.7-0.1 and thus ChatZilla 0.9.61.

The only option at present is to re-attach to a view, either using /attach, /server, /network, /join or whatever got you (or would get you) the view.

The Window Manager will remember all views, hidden or not, so that if you hide a server view (closing it will kill the connection) you'll never see it again. We could also use simple heuristics; if you /attach irc.example.com you get the server view, if you /attach irc.example.com/channel you get the server view created, but hidden, and then the channel view as expected.

OK, I'm morphing this bug slightly. Instead of an option, we should simple have network/server views hidden if they're only being used as stepping-stones. So you'd not have a network view for things like: - /attach moznet/chatzilla - IRC URL link to a channel or user - Only channels/users set to Open At Startup But you would have a network view for: - /attach moznet - IRC URL link to a network or server - The network is (also) in Open At Startup list Of course, being hidden, the network view would appear if anything of interest happened on it, or /attach moznet or similar was once. We need to revisit deleted vs hidden network views in another bug though...
Summary: Startup option for not showing the network/server tab for 'join channel at startup' → Only show network/server tab if directly requested

The network should also appear if copy important messages is on, imo - as having the new tab with the copied messages pop up on the right might be a bit odd.
