User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.9.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.9.1 At present I cannot drag and drop the user agent string into a text area on a webpage. This would be a useful feature for example when adding a user-agent string to a forum post. It is also faster than doing a Right click --> Copy then paste Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Try to drag and drop User Agent into webpage text area Actual Results: The cross icon is shown. Expected Results: The text is added to the text area
probably not possible since the about dialog is modal.
I'm marking a dupe as it is very similar to Bug 246400. Reporter, if you think this was done in error please REOPEN. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 246400 ***

Reopening, as this bug is specifically about being able to drag'n'drop the User Agent String, not about being able to select it.

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20050105 Firefox/1.0+ (Built using standard methods.) This works for me, most of the time. The dialogue is a sheet.
I would suggest merely using one of the extensions that allows you to post the user agent string, rather than modifying the behavior of the about dialog. As long as it remains a modal window, you will not be able to drag the text to a webpage. I don't think moving away from modal for the about dialog is an option. Just my opinion.
