User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 Installed Thunderbird. Established account using account wizard. Exited...started profile manager. Highlighted the only profile listed and clicked delete. Thunderbird crashed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install Thunderbird, 2. Start profile mgr and attempt to delete the profile. 3. Thunderbird crashes Expected Results: Should have deleted profile. Also, I noticed if I add a profile. I am able to delete the one listed at the top....but then when I attempt to delete the 2nd profile, Thunderbird crashes. Don't know if this is related, but afterwards I uninstalled Thunderbird completely (removed the folders) and reinstalled it. It remembered the 2nd profile I created. Again, when I tried to delete it, it crashes.

Thunderbird version 0.7.1 (20040626); Mac OS 10.2.8 I see the same thing on the Mac: attempting to delete a single remaining profile causes a crash "Exception: EXC_BREAKPOINT (0x0006) ... in halt". See attached log. If "Delete files" was selected in the delete confirmation dialog then the next launch will display the profile manager, with the default profile listed, but any attempts to start with this profile displays the error 'Mozilla Thunderbird cannot use the profile "default" because it is in use. Please choose another profile or create a new one.' Clicking the "Delete..." button at this stage causes a different crash "Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001) ... in nsToolkitProfile::Remove(int)". See attached log. Note that if "Don't delete files" is selected in the dialog then Thunderbird will launch normally on the next attempt, successfully using the default profile. Note also that Talkback was not launched by these crashes despite talkback reporting being turned on.
Just to add to the comment above (I should have included it when I created this bug)...but I also got the same 'Mozilla Thunderbird cannot use the profile "default" because it is in use. Please choose another profile or create a new one.' error that jwg detailed above.

maxie3: Could you provide TalkBack incident id? And what version of Thunderbird crashed?
Adam: As in jwg's case, Talkback was not launched even though it was turned on....so I don't have any incident id. I was using version 0.7.2.
should be fixed on trunk and aviary nightlies if I'm reading the other bug right *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 245053 ***
