User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.9.1 Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 0.7.2 (20040707) - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.9.1 Import would constantly fail with errors, and leave the mail system folders in a wierd state essentially breaking tb. I tracked this down to some of the oe folders containing /'s in their names. As workarounds you must use OE to rename any folders containing '/', removing the '/', prior to a re-import. If you have a previous failed import then you will have to delete the "C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\default.gzd\Mail\Local Folders\Outlook Express Mail.*" files and folders, before attempting to re-import (the now renamed) OE mailbox folders or tbird will barf for no good reason. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.import mail from outlook express that contains '/' in some of the mail folder names. 2. 3. Actual Results: You get some obtuse warning messages - but only flags one or two folders as problematic even though there were many more with the illegal character in. Also then leaves mailbox in a strange state that fails any subsequent imports with a "Unable to create folder to import mail into" error. Expected Results: change '/' to an alternate legal tbird mailbox character or escape the character if tbird has this capability.
could this be the same as bug 219586?
