User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.8 When I open a new tab by hitting ctrl-t, I expect it to load up the homepage because in my case (and I suspect most people's cases) this is a search engine page and I want to search for more stuff. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
It looks like this request will not be implemented in Firefox. However, Mozilla 1.7 has this option. Sugestion: probably you can add the search engine (which you say it's your home page) as an option in the search box, or you can create a bookmarklet (see http://devedge.netscape.com/viewsource/2002/bookmarks/ for details) to do the search directly from the address bar. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 187573 ***
