No crash for me ; using a 3 minutes old firefox aviary based build (Mozilla/5.0
(X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040726 Firefox/0.9.1+), with an
up-to-date fedora 2, under gnome 2.6
What browser do you use to get a crash ?

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040616
looked in the log files: gdm gets signal 11

Is there a long pause before it crashes? Or does it just crash immediately?

Mozilla draws the vertical bar (deviding the frames) and then, at the moment at
which in other browsers text or grapics show up, the screen goes black and gdm
restarts.

Well, we're triggering an X bug somewhere. Not sure where.

Found another page that causes the same behaviour here:
<http://mail.nllgg.nl/linux-starter/2003-05/43.html>. It has in common with the
first page that characters outside the ascii range are used, without a
specification of the character set used.

Selecting view-->character encoding-->utf-8 and viewing last mentioned page -->
no trouble. While viewing last mentioned page and selecting encoding iso-8859-1
--> crash.
