Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040729-07 The swedish characters å, ä and ö are replaced by "?" in the Livemarks for these feeds: http://expressen.se/rss/nyheter http://www.dn.se/DNet/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=1399 and http://www.gnuheter.com/backend.php These feeds are all using ISO-8859-1. This is a regression from the 2004-07-28-07 build where it worked fine. This does not seem to affect all feeds with non-ASCII chars, there is no problem with http://www.heise.de/newsticker/heise.rdf.
Same here - worked fine with 07-28, lots of ? character in 07-29. Feed is in iso-8859-2.
Confirming Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040730 Firefox/0.9.1+
As these are all 0.9 feeds, I'm guessing this is being caused by the patch for bug 251595 landing on the branch. Will look into it.

Some hebrew feeds give *all* question mark livemarks. some examples: http://israblog.nana.co.il/blog_rss.asp?blog=53405 (all the feeds on the site have the same problem. the site is one of the major blog hosts in Israel) http://www.notes.co.il/rss.asp?b=5 (and all the other feeds on the site, another major Israeli blog host) Using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040810 Firefox/0.9.1+ on osx 10.3.5

Ok, patch for this is in on aviary; not on trunk yet, because it depends on a patch that can't get in until 1.8a3 release is over.

Maybe this is not the same bug, but currently on Apple's feed, http://www.apple.com/main/rss/hotnews/hotnews.rss something makes my Firefox hang for some seconds. After this, the menu opens up, and some characters are corrupted. My installation: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 on Win XP SP2
I didn't have this problem with the official 1.0.x and 1.5.x.x releases, it returned in the 2.0a1 builds. Live bookmarks containing the Norwegian characters æ,ø and å are replaced with '?'s. The bug might have re-appeared as a result of 'Places', but I can't be sure of that since I never tried any 2.0 branch builds before Places was implemented. I'm having the same issue on my mac (OS X 1.4.6). Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20060405 Firefox/2.0a1 - Build ID: 2006040516
