Hi,
I have different IMAP accounts, and I do access each of them either
directly at 127.0.0.1:143 or through SSL/SSH tunnels (127.0.0.1:otherport).
The username is always the same (my first name).
Unfortunately mozilla can't handle these different accounts, because it
identifies the account only by IP and username. When I want to enter a second
account, it complains that there is already such an account. No chance to enter
a different port (this might be related to bug 78357). Furthermore, the
URLs in the preferences file describes Draft etc. folders with a URL without the
port number, so even if it was possible to create another account, the different
mailboxes would be confused.
I therefore suggest to have a port selector in the account wizard and to
identify accounts and folders by IP, username *and* port number.
regards
Hadmut
