Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040714 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040714 I created a new POP3 account then tried to get messages for account. It failed without feedback while it should have displayed the password dialog. I had to restart Mozilla and get messages again to get the password dialog, then it worked OK. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create addtional POP3 account (I have already 2 POP3 account and 3 NNTP accounts); 2. Try to get messages for this account. Actual Results: It silently fails. Expected Results: Dialog to ask POP3 password.
wfm with a current cvs trunk build Reporter: Maybe you can enable a pop log (see http://www.mozilla.org/quality/mailnews/mail-troubleshoot.html#pop for a how-to), then create another account and see if you can reproduce it. If yes, attach the pop log here (if there is any in it with that account of course :).
In fact, it does nothing. No connection at all. Note that this not my default POP account. Note 2: It is an account that I created and destroyed several time. Now I have nsmail/pop.tele2.ch, nsmail/pop.tele2-1.ch, nsmail/pop.tele2-2.ch, nsmail/pop.tele2-3.ch.
This sounds like a dupe of bug 252843, which has been fixed. Marc Mongenet, have you tried a current build (later than Jul 24)?
yes, looks like a dup to me...
It works well with Mozilla 1.8a3 (Gecko/20040817).
OK, duping. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 252843 ***
