User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040803

This is a request for a new feature to the Mozilla Email program.

I recently downloaded and tried the Mozilla email program in version 1.7.2 and
was disappointed to find that I could not select emails on the server for
downloading or deleting. Options can be set so that files over a certain size
are not downloaded, but this is not sufficient for my use. I would like to view
the emails on the server and be able to select which ones I want to download and
which ones I want to delete.

Please refer to the program: Pegasus Mail V4.11 This product has a "Selective
Mail Download" option. This allows me to see what emails are on the server, who
sent them, and the size. I can then select which emails I want to get and which
ones will be deleted prior to starting a transfer. I find this a valuable
feature for my modem connection.

In Edit->Mail and Newsgroups Account settings->Server settings
you can choose to "Fetch headers only". You can then treat the messages as you wish.

There are also context menus in the thread pane, to get "flagged" or "selected
messages".

That was all fixed in bug 185184, of which bug 240161 was resolved as a dup.
Which makes this one a dup as well.

I was unable to apply your suggested solution in the Mozilla email program
1.7.2. The "Fetch headers only" does not appear under the menu selection:
Edit->Mail and Newsgroups Account settings->Server settings
It does not appear under the server settings for my account or for the server
settings for news.mozilla.org.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
