RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 23394

People

(Reporter: diemer, Assigned: mscott)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de-DE; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040809 Firefox/0.9.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de-DE; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040809 Firefox/0.9.3

When I reply to an email, I often only want to quote some of the text. I used to
do this in Sylpheed by selecting the text to be quoted in the mail-read view and
then hitting reply. I kinda miss that feature in Thunderbird.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select text while reading an email
2. Hit reply button

Actual Results:
The full email is quoted

Expected Results:
Only the selected text should be quoted.
I believe this is a duplicate of Bug 23394.

Reporter (Jonas): Please take a look at Bug 23394 and mark this bug as a
duplicate if you agree that it is.
Yes, bug 23394 is pretty much the same, although for a different component, so I
am not shure if it's duplicate then... This bug could be fixed with an extension
in thunderbird, dunno about mozilla mail/news.
