User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040903 Firefox/1.0 PR (NOT FINAL) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040903 Firefox/1.0 PR (NOT FINAL) Thunderbird 20040902 had the first report that I saw. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=762088#762088 I have seen various other reports with inline forwarding producing badly formated emails but I did not see one with the forwarded message being blank/missing when I searched. Apologies if I missed one. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Thunderbird 2. Tools -> Options -> Composition -> Forwarding Messages -> Inline -> OK 3. Forward a message (right click, toolbar button, Message -> Forward, Ctrl+L) The source message is properly inlined. 4. Send the message (or just close the window) 5. Attempt to forward the same message again Actual Results: The source message is blank/missing in the new message window. Expected Results: The source message should have been properly inlined in the new message window. Thunderbird 20040901 was reported to drop just the last inline message if more than one inline message is present in the source. This may be a simpler form of the same error. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=761606#761606 That report was for IMAP, this was tested using a POP3 account (local mbox).

I could have sworn I'd changed the build identifier string. It should have read "Thunderbird version 0.8 (20040903)"

My fix for Bug #257571 introduced this regression. It also caused editing drafts to fail when editing a draft folder. fortunately Neil had a better fix for that bug that doesn't cause these regressions.
