Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: Sunbird When opening Sunbird, I do not get any indication the program is starting (no task bar button, no systray icon, no splash screen) other than hard disk activity that eventually (1.5 min) becomes bursts of disk activity at about 1- 2 Hz, coordinated with the hourglass-and-pointer pointer. This intermittent activity lasts until I stop it (at least three hours). Inspecting the Task Manager to find the problem, noticed that sunbird.exe would go to about 20 percent CPU usage (machine specs: P4 3.06 MHz w/HT, 1GB RAM, 60 GB HDD, Sager 8887 notebook). Selecting sunbird.exe was problematic, as it would unselect itself during the burst of disk activity. Ending the sunbird.exe process eliminated the problems above. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Sunbird or Sunbird (No Extensions) 2. 3. Actual Results: See details. Expected Results: Start Sunbird
As suggested in http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=124270 installing from the .zip version fixes the problem *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 256206 ***
