Thunderbird always incicates that the smtp-sever's tls certificate is
- not signed by a trusted authority
- does not match the server's name as used in the preferences.
I do, nevertheless, want to trust that certificate.
Unforunately, there is no possibility to accept the certificate permanently,
thunderbird (and mozilla mail, too, by the way) does everytime ask about the
certificate.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. set up a tls capable server as smtp out
2. use a self-signed server certificate
3. send mail
Actual Results:
thunderbird prompts every time
Expected Results:
Point out the certificate's particularities to the user and offer the
possibility to accept the certificate permanently.

See my comment #17 to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=221552 and
the attachment. Apologies if it should be here, not there.
I suspect that bug 260037, 247476, 267923 are all related... should have
searched differently the first time!

Ah. I've just been told by by Frank Wien that I should have reported it as
255025 - so that's four that are for the same thing, then.
