26010 - When loading up "viewer demos" from the debug menu.. mozilla loads the page forever

when i load up a viewer demo from the debug menu.. mozilla just
sits and loads the page forever.. the status bar just says
"Read" and the animation animates.. this is pretty strange
behaviour since its loading off my local drive..
i am using the linux 2000.01.31.14 build this is reproducable
and has been reproduable for along time now.

That's because these files no longer come in the distribution, so your're trying
to load a nonexistant file.  There really hould be an error msg in this case,
that's bug 19073 .  Please reopen if I've misunderstood.

These files certainly exist in the tree contained in the latest 
mozilla-win32.zip download. If they don't in the linux distribution
then one or the other is out of sync. 

For both that build and the one in the latest mozilla-win32-installer.exe,
several of the viewer demos off the Debug menu worked. This must be a
"pp" problem.

In any case the real issue is not bug 19073, which is about no alert
for a failed file:/// load, but the presence of the "Viewer Demos" item
on the Debug Menu if there should be no demos, or, contrariwise,
the absence of the demo files if they should be there to be loaded from
the menu. REOPENing.

The demos work for me using a cvs build.  I'm not sure what zach is talking
about.  In any case, reassigning to Installer group to see if there's a problem
in the nightly builds.

I'm not sure if test*.html files are to be delivered in the first place.  
Reassigning to leaf because he does the packaging for mozilla-win32.zip.

This bug is either about failed file:// loads taking forever, or it's about the 
menu items being there when they shouldn't be.

If it's about failed file:// loads taking forever, then it's a dup of bug 19073. 
However, you've decided amongst yourselves that it's not.

Therefore, it's about the menu items being there when they shouldn't be. And in 
that case ...

Verifying; bug 22679, "Viewer tests missing from Seamonkey installation" is 
ASSIGNED and about exactly the same issue.
